Just two gals about to go on stage at the Melbourne Town Hall, which the incredible @annafunderauthor had of course sold out. She’s been on a national tour talking about her peerless body of work, each piece of which has become a modern classic and internationally celebrated. Anna is that rare writer and intellectual: deeply moral, punctilious about fairness and accuracy, kind, transporting in her ability to take you to times and places, and she writes like an angel. Wifedom occupies a special place on my bookshelves; Stasiland is sui generis. We’ve been hanging out together from Adelaide to Melbourne, with excellent post-show conversations well into the night. Last night was Anna’s latest triumph and I was just happy just to hang onto the end of the kite. I’m sure you’ve read her work - if, not this is your sign to do so. Till next time, Anna!
