I was actually struggling with the Valsalva Maneuver reflex.
It’s a reflex that can interfere with articulation, causing hesitation, stuttering, and even blocking the tongue.
I had no idea what was happening at the time and it completely changed the way I played.

Would love any resources you used to help you with this. I don’t personally deal with this, but I was recently try to help a student who I suspect is dealing with this and I didn’t have much in the way of pedagogy/exercises to help them, just explaining what I think was happening and why it’s harmful to their playing.
