🚩 If someone puts their hands on your neck, they aren't just angry… They are showing you they are fully capable of killing you. 😳💥

I sat down with @denisebrowntoo to talk about the chilling truth behind relationship violence, and why calling strangulation "choking" is a dangerous mistake we HAVE to stop making.

Cutting off blood flow to someone's brain isn't a heat-of-the-moment outburst—it's about total power and control, and it's the #1 precursor to murder.

Ladies, NEVER excuse this behavior or accept an apology for something that puts your life in immediate danger! Protect yourself and pay attention to the warning signs before it's too late. 👏💥

👇 BE HONEST: Have you ever minimized a red flag in a relationship because someone apologized the next day? Drop your thoughts below!

This was how my best friend in high school was murdered by her husband after filling for divorce. Her name was Nicole. ❤️

It’s not “playing around.” It’s not a joke. It’s not funny. It’s not a man with high levels of intelligence in all forms.

This is such a powerful conversation about strangulation, and it needs to be heard. 👏🏽💜 We talk about *non-fatal strangulation* but I have to ask, how many people truly understand what those words mean? “Non-fatal” does not mean harmless. It does not mean there are no lasting consequences. And it certainly doesn't mean the danger ends when the person survives the attack. My daughter Tianne was strangled by her perpetrator several times. I will never stop saying this: strangulation must be taken seriously. The physical and psychological consequences of strangulation can be devastating, and the wider impact of domestic abuse can continue long after the incident itself. In Tianne's case, there were serious concerns around blood clots and respiratory problems, and I believe her history of strangulation needs to be understood as part of that bigger picture. And then there is the justice system. The sentence her perpetrator received for the offences against her, including strangulation, still feels completely inadequate to me. Tianne was not a statistic. She was my daughter. A beautiful, vibrant woman with a future ahead of her. Because strangulation is serious. Domestic abuse is serious. And women deserve to be protected before it is too late 💜 #StrangulationAwareness #NonFatalStrangulation #DomesticAbuse #CoerciveControl #ProtectWomenAndGirls #TianneOlivia

I dated a guy who did that “in jest” once. I never went back. NOPE. Creeped me out.
