And here it is *insert drum roll*… the Project Ham House kitchen. I’m insanely excited to finally share the stills of the hardest-working room in this extraordinarily beautiful home. The challenge here was making such a vast space with soaring ceilings feel like a country house kitchen in the truest sense: somewhere warm, welcoming and full of life, rather than a cavernous space you admire from the doorway. Getting it right was a real team effort between our clients, the architects, our team and the brilliant joiners. And the details. Oh, the details. Beautiful Arabescato marble, a rather glorious three-metre-plus island in contrasting dark timber, and those little flashes of jewellery in the form of @waterworks taps and @armacmartin hardware throughout. Then there’s what’s happening above our heads. The enormous rooflight floods the room with natural light, while the coffered ceiling, beams and coving give the fifth wall the attention it deserves. A country house kitchen with grandeur, yes, but more importantly, one made for cooking, gathering, lingering over dinner and all the beautiful mess of family life. There is simply too much to love about this room to squeeze it all into one caption, so if you fancy seeing more, the full Ham House YouTube series is waiting for you. Three episodes taking you from the very first stages of this enormous renovation right through to the grand finale: the finished house tour. Project Ham House | Kitchen & Dining
