Today we invited mudlarking enthusiast extraordinaire
@south_river_artist to come down and show off some of her treasures she's found around the banks of the Thames.
A flint axe head from 10,000BC, ceramic fragments; a piece of a slipware platter, a piece of a blue glazed meat dish, almost intact Victorian clay pipes, decorated oyster shells, animal (sheep or bull?) horn all found.
Of course, we turned this into a pirate themed treasure hunt, because what is life without a bit of whimsy.
Please remember that piracy on the high seas has been illegal in the UK since 1536 just incase we've inspired anyone to take it up as a hobby.
