Today we were joined by @jojo.adeyemo (of @wildlondonphotowalks fame) who took the 🐸 members around our site for an Autumn walk to see what they liked about our Farm Road home during this season. We where on the hunt for colours, but trying to focus on what was above our heads as well as by our feet 🍂🍁🍂

As you can see, there's some great photos 📸 which will soon adorn the walls of our pavilion. by @froglearning

🎃 Halloween, our 4th favourite Autumn based festival of the year. The members demanded the right to dance and flap about, make a pumpkin soup, scoff a load of sweets and play a bit of ghost bowling 🎃 by @froglearning

Ah Autumn 🍂 our favourite.

So much to do, and our old friend Mother Nature keeps giving us more jobs, but so do our friends @poulterparkrevesbywood and we've begun a 'daylighting' project with them. For this we've teamed up with @southeastriverstrust who need our expertise in knocking dead trees over, we'll leave the river to them.

Some of our team from @froglearning today after a great session on the backwater. Really lovely to be joined by @southeastriverstrust’s Divya who worked along side us today 💚

As ever huge thanks to @heritagefunduk @nationallotterygoodcauses @thenationallottery players for funding our tools and interpretation project through @southeastriverstrust and #ChalkStreamConnectors by @froglearning

From everyone at FROG Learning CIC we wish our friend @vbairdy the very best of luck as she runs the @cardiffhalf Marathon this morning.

Thank you to everyone who has donated already, and if you have a few spare pennies you'd like to give us, you can find the link here 👇

Those wasted hours playing Tetris as a child were not wasted 🤩

The log wall is now a very nice habitat for all our creepy crawley friends. (That's not to be confused with creepy people from Crawley, we're talking bugs and insects)

Ah September, time to harvest our veggie goodies, and start preparations for the winter ahead. On the menu this week was petty pan squashed stuffed with chilli and apple tarts.

The entrance bed got a drastic haircut, the log wall went in, and we started our new Autumn project with the good people @poulterparkrevesbywood - more on this throughout the Autumn - but this is a particularly exciting project for all of us at 🐸

This week our aubergines were ready to be harvested, so it was plant based moussaka on the menu 😋

@mertongardenstreets delivered some lovely plants for Autumn, so we've planted them and tidied up the tree pits on Farm Road (try not to drive over them this time fellow Farm Roadians)

And a project to improve water flow by the Wandle with @tmufcofficial has begun, lots of chopping needed 🤩 ....

Good luck to everyone planting for Merton Garden Streets this weekend 💪

A busy week at FROG HQ, some unrelenting heat, and at some point we decided to start cooking sessions, invite a mudlarking pirate through the door ( @south_river_artist ) and arrange a solar eclipse. Wherever do we find the time?

We're also thrilled that friend of 🐸 @vbairdy is running a half marathon to try and raise us some money for the Summer house, if you can, you'll find the link here...

Today we invited mudlarking enthusiast extraordinaire @south_river_artist to come down and show off some of her treasures she's found around the banks of the Thames.

A flint axe head from 10,000BC, ceramic fragments; a piece of a slipware platter, a piece of a blue glazed meat dish, almost intact Victorian clay pipes, decorated oyster shells, animal (sheep or bull?) horn all found.

Of course, we turned this into a pirate themed treasure hunt, because what is life without a bit of whimsy.

Please remember that piracy on the high seas has been illegal in the UK since 1536 just incase we've inspired anyone to take it up as a hobby.

Follow @south_river_artist for more mudlarking fun and frolicking.....aaaarrrrggghhhh!! 🏴‍☠️☠️🦜 by @froglearning

Over the past few months we've been hard at work transforming the front of our site. A dead hedge has been made and a woodchip path laid, today we planted a selection of plants that we hope will be integral to the wildflower avenue, the seeds will be thrown in the Spring 🌸🌼🌻

If anyone has any seeds they'd like to collect and donate, please get in touch.

A big thanks to Sam and Mr J, and all the members who have made this project their own over the Summer. It's been a great shady area to work in the heat.

Summer.

Harvest, cook, eat, repeat.

We've made French Onion Soup, Apple crumble and eaten a load of tomatoes.

Our work on the front path has moved into planting, and is really starting to take shape. More work to do by @froglearning
