🎥 Saturday’s video clips 🧡

It was a hot one on Saturday, with very little breeze at times. By this point she’d already had some really good retrieves, including one where she had to hunt a ditch hard and eye wiped another dog, so she was pretty tired by the end. A lot of the dogs were going flat in the heat, so I was really pleased with how she kept pushing on even if she was slower than usual on her return 🥵

1st video:
The end of a blind retrieve. She took some mega lines all day, this being one of them 🧡

2nd video:
Last round, with only 3 dogs remaining.

We’d just watched a driven drive (dummies at the top of the hill), and were then told, “I don’t want those. See that brown cover on the other side of the water? I want a blind from there.”

She was the last dog to go, so this was the last dummy to find in that area. She did pull left of my right hunt, but the visibility around the tree wasn’t the best. I was really pleased with how she held the area once she got into it. She was tired coming back, so I just popped in a recall to hurry her along!

3rd video – last retrieve:
We were then told, “Now pick me one from the drive at the top of the hill.”

She was the only dog to run through the area they'd just picked from and drive on to the top. What you can’t see in the video is just how close another dummy was to the one she picked… and this is where the nerves kicked in. A swap would have been the end of it 🙈 Thankfully, a quick recall was all she needed.

My nerves were awful agyer hardly competing the last 2 years, but Tessa did not disappoint me. So proud of her for keeping going in the heat and finishing the day like this. 🧡🐾
