A nursing student’s viral Reddit post claims nearly everyone at the hospital where she volunteers is romantically involved with a coworker. The data paints a more complicated picture, since workplace relationships are common in almost every industry. In a 2026 Medscape survey of Canadian physicians, 54% said doctors are no more likely than other professionals to get intimate at work, though 14% said they are. Across all jobs, about 39% of US workers say they’ve dated a coworker, according to a 2025 survey from Resume Genius. Healthcare does have conditions that can bring people closer, including long overnight shifts, high pressure situations and coworkers who become each other’s main social circle. That may help explain why about 20% of physicians are married to other doctors and another 25% to other healthcare professionals, according to Medscape data cited by the American Medical Association. #viral #reddit #doctors #hospital #nurse
🇺🇸 “That is what AIDS is after all, isn’t it? One long set of disappearing acts. First is watching the friend and family disappear. Second act is when people try to disappear you. Third act is watching your body vanish from itself and wondering where the FUCK you going, piece by piece, until all of you gone. I swear to God, at one point I used to think people with AIDS evaporate. If there is a fourth act it’s when everybody erase your name as if you were never born in the first place.” 📖Jordan Brown, in Marlon James’ THE DISAPPEARERS Photos: Ralph Cutler, Charlie Milhaupt.
