Part Four: On The Mat room
Heated and non heated Pilates, yoga and sound healing.
Warmth was an intentional part of the design language within On The Mat, with the rich wall colour carried across the ceiling to create an immersive, cocooning feel.
While the room takes on a more contemporary tonal treatment, we wanted to respect the building’s heritage features. The original skirting detail was retained in white, creating a considered break against the deeper colour. We carried this same detail through to the curtains, introducing a contrasting band along the skirt to mimic the tonal line and add another layer of interest.
Function was equally considered. Equipment storage was designed specifically for the room, giving every piece its own place and allowing the space to remain calm, organised and visually refined.
The result is a room that feels instantly warm and grounded, with the original balcony doors framing an incredible outlook across the harbour towards the city , connecting this intimate interior back to its remarkable location.
