Suns owner Mat Ishbia said Kevin Durant’s acquisition ultimately didn’t align with his vision for Phoenix, citing a lack of defined culture and direction after the team won just one playoff series in 2.5 seasons with Durant. Ishbia discussed the move as a lesson learned during an appearance on CNBC Sport, prompting Durant to push back on his characterization of his tenure. Link in bio for more.
One of the things I’ve noticed as a college professor is that finding information, and understanding how information is organized, is becoming a lost art. In an effort to help our son become more independent in his own learning, we’re intentionally teaching him how to find information using books and other tangible resources. Understanding how information is organized, whether alphabetically, chronologically, categorically, or otherwise, helps him learn how to locate information and make use of it. When we go straight to an internet search for every question, we short circuit the thinking involved in figuring out where information might be, how it’s organized, and how to find it ourselves. Yes our son will use technology as he gets older. We aren’t trying to avoid that forever. We’re intentionally supporting his development of a foundation that will allow him to use technology as a tool rather than something he depends on. These are some of our favorite types of resources to bring a variety of ways information is organized. Merriam-Webster Children’s Dictionary, Merriam-Webster The Mysteries of the Universe, Will Gater Fossils from Lost Worlds, Hélène Rajcak and Damien Laverdunt (translated from French) Lift-the-Flap Periodic Table, Alice James, illustrated by Shaw Nielsen The Random House Book of Poetry for Children, selected by Jack Prelutsky, illustrated by Arnold Lobel Encyclopedia Infographica, DK Children’s Illustrated Atlas, DK Comment ORGANIZE and I’ll send you the book list! #probablydoingfine #readaloudframework
