In English, verbs rely heavily on context, pronouns, and auxiliary words (like did, will, would) to express time and intent. Portuguese embeds all this information directly into the ending of the verb.
Here is why they exist:
• Grammatical Person (Subject): English uses “did” for I, you, he, we, they. Portuguese changes the ending for almost every subject to show exactly who is doing the action without needing to repeat the pronoun (e.g., fiz = I did, fez = he/she/you did).
• Nuanced Past Tenses: English relies on “used to do” or “was doing” to show ongoing past actions. Portuguese has a specific, single-word tense for this (fazia vs. fez).
• The Subjunctive Mood: Portuguese has an entire set of conjugations dedicated strictly to hypotheticals, doubts, wishes, and possibilities (faça, fizesse, fizer). English usually handles this with simple past or present forms (e.g., “If I did that...” becomes “Se eu fizesse aquilo...”).

Tesla says the Roadster uses a fan-powered suction system for added road grip and self-refilling cold-gas thrusters for airborne maneuvers. The company claims it can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 0.81 seconds. Tesla plans to offer three versions: a road-ready Performance model, a Thrust version with rear thrusters, and an invite-only Rocket model capable of the aerial stunts. The Rocket version will seat one person and is not approved for public roads.
