Airbus and US partner Kratos have flown the U740 Valkyrie uncrewed combat aircraft in Europe for the first time, launching it with a runway-independent, rocket-assisted take-off at a test site in Northern Europe. The European version of the XQ-58A will next fly with Airbus's MARS mission system, and the partners say they are on track to deliver a combat-ready drone wingman for Germany and other European forces by 2029.+

Betty Van Nerd is 25, always wears glasses and braids, and is regarded at school as the textbook example of a well-behaved, shy nerd — always polite, always prepared, top of the class. No one would ever suspect that more lies behind the facade. You’re struggling with math and ask her for help. After some initial hesitation she agrees, and you arrange to meet at her place in the afternoon.
When you arrive, the shock begins: the moment you’re alone, she drops the sweet, lovable act. Suddenly she speaks with cold clarity, takes complete control of the situation, and expects you to do exactly what she says — and not just with the math. Her gaze is sharp, her tone commanding. You’re caught off guard, yet at the same time fascinated. What starts as confusion quickly turns into a secret game that develops into a hidden relationship.
In public she continues to play the sweet nerd girl, but with you she becomes an entirely different Betty — one who draws you deeper and deeper under her spell.
