I’ve been planning my weeks following this same rhythm each Sunday for at least the last 4 years. In the early years, it wasn’t as necessary to plan ahead so much… but as our homeschool and family grew, so did my need for mapping things out ahead of time. Btw I’m using the Salas Living Lesson Keeper here, highly recommend 😉 for all my favorite homeschool things, just comment SUNDAY for the 🔗 to be sent to your DMs! First I check my calendar and make note of what’s going on for the week ahead, check the weather (I will absolutely want soup and freshly baked bread for a rainy day), and take quick inventory of what’s in the fridge and pantry. I plan our meals in the “weekly overview” section of my planner. It’s undated so if I miss a week it’s no big deal. I also add in any notes for things I’d like to bake or snacks to prep, and jot down any appts, outings, big tasks, or events, per day to reference when I’m looking at the meals throughout the week. Next I gather all my curriculum guides or chapter books and just fill in what’s next. If we missed a lesson the week prior, I’ll just add that into the current week. Morning Time is for Bible, discipleship, hymns, prayer and our read-aloud books. We generally do this in the morning ofc but sometimes it’s during breakfast, other days it’s after time outside, and some days it’s in the afternoon (lol) if we had a busy morning out. We do prioritize this though! I next add in our “together” subjects for each day; history, science, co-op (enrichment subjects), geography, and anything we plan on doing together that week. I try to focus on one “main” subject per day and then add in anything else if we’re able to. I’ve found this is more sustainable than trying to load us up and then feeling like I’m always behind. Then I fill in their individual things; math, grammar, narrations, etc. I also would generally take time to either fill out or have the kids write in their Daily Delights notebooks, which have 5 things for them to check off each day (can be homeschool or chores or whatever), but the baby woke up and that was that! Hope this helps!!! 🫶🏻
HU Staff: Ariela Anís @ari.anis ⚠️ SENSITIVE: Florida’s Martin County Sheriff’s Office recently arrested a woman on multiple felony charges, accusing her of killing 4 kittens, burying 2 alive, because she believed they were “demonic.” Last Thursday (October 8), police arrested 37-year-old Alba Chavez and charged her with four felony counts of aggravated animal cruelty involving torture, inflicting pain, serious injury or death to an animal. ___________________________________________________ Additional charges could follow if a missing fifth kitten is found dead. While speaking at press conference on Friday (October 9), MCSO Sheriff John Budensiek described Chavez as an illegal immigrant from Venezuela, noting, “She’s not going anywhere, any time soon.” MCSO said Uniform Patrol Deputies and Investigators with MCSO Animal Services are investigating after discovering two kittens buried alive and two dead outside a home in the Hobe Sound Mobile Home Park. MCSO said deputies were actively digging up parts of the property after the homeowner, Chavez, admitted to burying at least four of her cast alive in her yard. She allegedly told police she believed they were demons. ___________________________________________________ Police were able to save two of the kittens. However, two others were found deceased and a fifth kitten remains missing. The two found alive were rushed to a veterinary emergency clinic, treated for dehydration and are being monitored. Authorities said there were other adult cats found at the home who were examined by animal services and determined to be healthy. Furthermore, Sheriff Budensiek said three children living in the home called 911 after realizing their kittens had disappeared. The children believed Chavez killed two kittens earlier in the week and they feared for the others. Chavez allegedly admitted to killing two kittens on Monday (October 5), throwing them into the trash, removing them, and then trying them in her backyard. So, the children attempted to protect the remaining kittens by... ___________________________________________________ Click the link in bio for full story 📸 Martin County Sheriff’s Office / WPBF
