traveling as a queer couple means there’s always a littleee extra research to do before booking a trip 🌈✈️

we’ve had many amazing experiences traveling, but we’ve also learned how important it is to be aware of our surroundings and how people are perceiving us

we always prefer to be open about our relationship, but never at the expense of our safety (both abroad and at home in the US)

we wish it wasn’t something we had to think about, but it’s part of our reality, and the reality of all lgbtq travelers💖

queer travelers: what’s something important to think about before booking a trip?

Trump’s latest press secretary Katie Zacharia has now admitted to failing the bar exam. Clearly she’s too young to get in; mentally anyway. Trump’s whole team need to grow an extra brain cell as the one they share must be getting so lonely up there. #katiezacharia #impeachtrump

I used to think peace was something I’d arrive at later.

When the next deal closed. After the next goal. After I’d proven enough, built enough, become enough. I was always running towards a version of life where I’d finally get to slow down.

This Fall, standing barefoot on a cold dock with leaves turning around me, I realized something. The trees don’t wait until they’re finished to let go. They release right in the middle of the season, a little at a time, and they’re still beautiful while doing it.

I’m done waiting. I stood on one leg and found my balance. I reached higher than felt comfortable. I knelt by the water and breathed. And somewhere between shakiness and laughter, I felt it. I wasn’t on my way to peace anymore. I’ve become it.

Strong enough to hold my ground. Soft enough to let life move through me. Both at the same time. That’s the practice.

I’m grateful for every season that got me here. Especially the hard ones. They taught me how to be still.

If you’ve been waiting for permission to slow down, this is it.

What are you ready to let go of this season? 👇🏼
