A person dressed as Batman stands in front of a blaze during a nationwide protest led by campaign group "Gen Z regelt," meaning "Gen Z takes charge," in Frankfurt, Germany, October 31, 2026.

The protests took place in 34 cities including Berlin, Frankfurt and Munich. The group says it opposes compulsory military service and wants greater investment in education as many young Germans struggle with rising costs.

another opportunity Monday.

Overthinking can easily make you feel like your worst fears are happening right now, turning a quiet moment into a heavy cloud of anxiety and mental exhaustion. When your mind starts spiraling and tangling every worry together, take a slow breath and remind yourself that you are safe and they are just passing thoughts, not facts. Your thoughts do not define your reality, and you do not have to believe everything your anxious mind tells you in moments of stress. Whether you are practicing gentle self-compassion or leaning on someone who patiently helps you untangle the chaos in your head, healing begins when you separate yourself from the noise inside your mind. Be patient with your mental health journey, give yourself grace on overwhelming days, and remember that even the heaviest mental storm eventually passes.
