EVEREST BASE CAMP BABY!!!

8 days trekking through the Himalayas and we’ve finally reached 5,364m.

It’s been an emotional 48 hours!

There were points where it genuinely looked like it might be game over.

Altitude running riot. Sickness. Major fatigue. The doubts were definitely creeping in.

The night before our final push we all sat down and had a big chat about what everyone had been through just to make it to the start line.

And not only did it have me and @jamiecpic blubbering, it reminded me of what real bravery looks like.

It’s easy to back yourself when you know you can do it. Easy when the odds are stacked in your favour.

But what about when they’re not? Who’s really still about it

This was a team full of people who (on paper) had every reason to doubt themselves.

But they said yes anyway.

And that same spirit that pushed them to say yes in the first place carried them through every difficult moment, every time they wondered what the f*ck they’d signed up for, and eventually all the way to the base of the highest mountain in the world.

The people who find out what they’re capable of are the ones willing to risk finding out they can’t!

This is what @hardestadventures is all about

In a blast of showmanship, Elon Musk has unveiled Tesla’s redesigned Roadster 2, nine years after the luxury sports car was first announced. This version, however, features thrusters that can send it airborne.

The two-seater car was revealed at a demonstration event at the rocket development and testing facility of SpaceX—which collaborated on the development of the new Roadster—in McGregor, Texas, on Thursday night.

Crucially, there was no human occupant during the demo, which Tesla and SpaceX CEO Musk said was “to make sure we don’t kill anyone.” Those assembled to watch in person cheered as the prototype drove upside down on a ramp using a suction system and landed using in-built thrusters.

“I’m not sure it’s necessarily legal in all jurisdictions," Musk said of the car’s “flying” technology. “This is not necessarily a safety-optimized car.” The Federal Aviation Administration did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The Roadster 2 was first announced back in 2017, with Tesla taking deposits in 2018 and saying deliveries would begin in 2020. Last night, Tesla said production would finally begin in 2028.

Musk has a long history of not following through on his loftiest product ambitions, and timelines for many Tesla releases have repeatedly missed targets.
