They kind of got screwed by the league. When Vegas came in these teams weren’t reluctant at all to let all the young players go to Vegas. Obviously a lot of players did well and saw these teams didn’t want the young players going to Seattle because they thought the same thing would happen. So on a result, Seattle choose a lot of older players and guys that didn’t really stick around. If they had a better expansion draft, you could argue they would’ve been more competitive.

16/30 picks even made the roster. Absolutely terrible. They had so many options and choose to play the “long” game with chances to improve thru the draft which has a smaller chance of being successful. Every team believes culture starts with the HC but it really starts from GM and he unfortunately was the reason why the culture didn’t continue to build after season 2
