"Mayahuel" Pez Hanson, October 2025, 14"x17", water based marker on paper
.
Not sure why I never ended up posting this drawing here, I am very very proud of it. It is based off of the Aztec Myth of "Mayahuel", the goddess of Agave. The myth goes that she was so beautiful, her grandmother hid her away in the stars. A brave warrior disguised himself as the wind to seduce her, and they fell in love. When her grandmother found out, she was so rageful that she intended to kill the girl. The warrior transformed her into tha agave plant to keep her safe.... It's been a long time since I read the myth so I'm sure there are some details I got wrong. But You get the gist lol.
