The FWC2026 has been hands down the best experience I’ve had in the broadcast space. Having left the industry 2 years back, when the opportunity to work with WTvision & Zee came knocking, it was a no brainer and boy was it worth it. The opportunity to work alongside some of the best football talent in the country and legends such as Robbie Fowler, getting a deeper perspective on how they perceive the sport, it couldn’t have been a more enriching experience.
From putting in 12 hour days and an additional few for my own social media, there was no time to breathe in the initial 2-3 weeks.
On the social media end, when I started posting regularly, the goal was to change the way we look at football in India. Although individual brilliance makes a big difference in clutch moments, we focus a little too much on individuals which is why all my content is based on how players interact on the field, taking the focus out from the individual and looking at the bigger picture which I feel is the need of the hour in Indian football. Taking an example out from Argentina vs Austria, Messi scored a brilliant goal but he wouldn’t have gotten the ball had Lautaro not made the initial run stretching the defence and dragging 2 players with him.
Be it the broadcasting space or the football field, “Sum of the parts is greater than the whole”
