I wish you could borrow
the eyes of your future self
for just a moment.

I think they’d be so excited
for you to know that the life
you’re so worried about
is blooming so beautifully,
in ways you can’t yet see.

I think they’d want to remind you
that the prayers you thought went unheard,
the hope you almost let go of,
and the parts of yourself
you thought were lost
were all just finding
their way back to you.

Most of all,
I think they’d thank you,

for staying,
for believing,
and for holding on
long enough to discover
that keeping going
was one of the bravest things
you ever did.
