Earlier this month in Conakry, MPs, government, investors and civil society came together for the second National Parliamentary Workshop on the Energy Transition and Green Investment Dialogue. It was part of our Parliamentarians for Climate Finance project, in collaboration with
@unido_org and support from the
@greenclimatefund. The workshop was officially opened by H.E. Hadja Maïmouna Yombouno, First Vice-President and Acting President of Guinea’s National Transition Council, reflecting strong parliamentary ownership of the energy transition agenda.
Over two days, participants worked on how to turn Guinea's climate goals into real projects: rural electrification, clean cooking, green jobs and opportunities for women and young people.
Discussions also focused on a national low-carbon project pipeline, decentralised electrification, Green Energy Constituencies and financing mechanisms to mobilise climate and private investment.
The message was clear: Guinea’s energy transition must be locally anchored, investment-ready and inclusive.
