A thrilling day to celebrate the grand opening of the Loma Verde affordable housing project. We started working on this project in 2019. The idea was to find ways to use small lots that were usually overlooked for housing development and utilize new land use laws to build more homes on the scraps of land that we will increasingly need to repurpose if we are to address our city’s housing crisis. The road to get here was long and full of challenges, but today we celebrate a one of a kind project that provides 18 formerly homeless Angelenos with a place to call home.
