Each year we take our Board members and staff on a tour of projects to which Genesis LA has provided financing and technical assistance. This experience is so valuable for our team. We get the opportunity to see our partners’ community development projects in person and to hear directly from borrowers about the challenges of this work, success stories, impact, and value of our partnerships to make hard deals actually come to life. Thank you to @ltsc.cdc @holoscommunities @lehrerarchitects @alifeinthearts for hosting us, opening your doors, and sharing your time with us this week. by @genesisla_cdfi

Congrats to our partners at @citylabucla for 20 years of impact. We have worked with cityLAB since the early days of the ADU revolution and now on the Small Lots Big Impact initiative. What a wonderful night to celebrate the great work of the organization, its founder @danacuff , its new leaders, and the next chapter of their work. by @genesisla_cdfi

We got a sneak peek of the awesome Endeavor space shuttle in Exposition Park, now in its launch position. It is an amazing sight to see. Millions of people will get to visit this inspiring site and hundreds of thousands of LA school kids will learn about science and space exploration visiting this museum. by @genesisla_cdfi

Our monthly Genesis LA social took us on a fun walking tour with the @laconservancy exploring the rich history and beautiful architecture of our city’s downtown. #dtla by @genesisla_cdfi

Another day to celebrate hard work, goodwill and perseverance. Today was the grand opening of Sunnyside Apartments in South LA. This was another of our Rethink Housing projects to repurpose tiny lots into affordable multifamily housing, using the many new state and city laws meant to incentivize reuse of underutilized lots to address our housing crisis. After many years of work, a pandemic, and record inflation, Sunnyside Apartments created 27 affordable homes on a site that is smaller than the typical single family lot in Los Angeles. This building provides much needed affordable housing and adds to the beauty of the community. Many thanks to our brilliant and tireless partners on this @holos_inc @lehrerarchitects and RNLA. by @genesisla_cdfi

A fun night celebrating with our awesome partners at @holoscommunities by @genesisla_cdfi

Today, our friends at @cocosouthla and @hollyjmitchell hosted a neighborhood festival and farmers market with @prosperity.market celebrating the culture, vibrancy and future of South LA. We are working with these partners to reimagine the Vermont Corridor, support small businesses and arts & culture. by @genesisla_cdfi

Celebrating our dear friends at @ltsc.cdc and the exciting projects we get to work on together. Sake Fest 2026 was a blast. by @genesisla_cdfi

A thrilling day to celebrate the grand opening of the Loma Verde affordable housing project. We started working on this project in 2019. The idea was to find ways to use small lots that were usually overlooked for housing development and utilize new land use laws to build more homes on the scraps of land that we will increasingly need to repurpose if we are to address our city’s housing crisis. The road to get here was long and full of challenges, but today we celebrate a one of a kind project that provides 18 formerly homeless Angelenos with a place to call home. Thanks to our partners @holos_inc @lehrerarchitects and RNLA. by @genesisla_cdfi

A wonderful day to celebrate the grand opening of the new Charles Drew University Health Professionals Building. CDU educates hundreds of doctors, nurses and other health professionals each year and is a leading source of talent that goes on to serve low-income and underserved communities in South LA and beyond. Genesis LA provided approximately $20 million in New Markets Tax Credits to help build this facility. #nmtc by @genesisla_cdfi
