According to the California Post, 35-year-old Adolfo Gramajo had been spending time with his sons, 4-year-old Jimmy Gramajo Bonilla and 11-year-old Osmani Gramajo Bonilla, during a custody visit. The three reportedly went to McDonald’s before the tragedy unfolded.

The father had allegedly assured the boys’ mother that he would take them to his parents’ home. Instead, authorities say he shot both children in the head before attempting to take his own life.

Both boys were rushed to the hospital, where they were pronounced dead. The medical examiner confirmed that Jimmy suffered a close-range gunshot wound to the head, while Osmani also died from a gunshot wound to the head.
