I’m thrilled to be back in the producer chair for the return of Euphonia! A Brass & Balkan Festival - coming to the magical @officialopus40 on Saturday, August 22nd! 🎺✨

What an honor to be asked to curate a lineup celebrating the genre(s) I love most: Balkan & brass music. I'm super excited about this line-up, what a roster of all-stars, truly:

🔥 @funkrustbrassband (NYC): Highly danceable post-apocalyptic disco punk brass - all originals!

🔥 @wpobrass (Philadelphia, PA) - "Avant village folk brass band" blending traditional Eastern European Balkan and Romani music with American jazz, punk, and hip-hop influences.

🔥 Mountain Lions (NYC, mostly): Ecstatic dance music from the southern Balkans and Turkey, in an all-star lineup inspired by zurna and davul but purring and growling with 3 alto saxophones and drum. Featuring the incredible @mattmoinbk of @slavicsoulparty and members of @zlatneuste.

🔥 @unicornbrassband (Kingston, NY): A homegrown project close to my heart, featuring original pop & disco arrangements, some Balkan beats, New Orleans second line, and for this show, a very special debut (hint: we were inspired by @labiahead_band).

Also featuring Balkan dance lessons courtesy of our regular @unicornkingston Balkan Night teacher, Noel Kropf (he's really so good, because of him I can lead a cocek and a kolo and a couple of others on my own now!)

If you're looking to find some joy, this is the place. Bring the kiddos, the parents, this music is for everyone. Come dance with us! 🎉
