A little retrospective from my trip to El Salvador in 2023.
Part of me can’t believe it’s already been three years…
or that this video has been sitting in my drafts for just as long.
I’ve been back to El Salvador since this trip, but this one feels especially precious because my abuelito was still alive and in better health.
Maybe I just miss him a little extra today. Maybe I’m missing my family and the land a little extra today.
I’m grateful for the land that nurtured my father and holds so much of our family’s history.
Sometimes I wish I could split myself into pieces so I could be in multiple places at once. I would send one part of me to El Salvador and another to Oaxaca.
How special it is to have a heart rooted in different parts of the world. 🤍
