Aside from the fact that Queen Vashti’s refusal eventually created room for Esther’s destiny, we’re not told the exact reason she refused to appear before the king.
Of course, we can only speculate because the Bible doesn’t tell us why she refused.
What if something was wrong with her that day and wanted the king to notice? What if she expected the king to send her beautiful gifts before she came out?😄 Maybe she was trying to get her husband’s attention😌 or perhaps it was something entirely different.
Whatever her reason was, the king’s advisers escalated what began as a disagreement between a husband and his wife into an empire-wide issue. Sometimes, the counsel we receive in moments of conflict can turn the situation into an irreversible one.
One emotional decision. One piece of counsel. One irreversible decree. Lives changed forever.
Perhaps the king later calmed down and reconsidered everything, but by then, there was nothing he could do.
Yet, in God’s sovereignty, He used the situation to position Esther for her divine assignment.
But if i were to be Vashti i will go out oh. I no fit shout 😄💯💜
