What an honor to attend the @socialimpactfund awards and moderate a Q&A with @johnmayer & @gchoucroun of @heartandarmor about the important work they are doing to improve mental health outcomes for veterans!

Mental health has become deeply personal and professionally meaningful to me, especially as I continue working toward my master’s degree in psychology. The more I learn, the more I value organizations that go beyond awareness and invest in rigorous research, science, and evidence-based solutions. That is Heart & Armor. Their work is rooted in understanding what all veterans and their families actually need, asking better questions, and using research to help create more effective support. (I also love all the veterans putting their hearts into this organization - like @schwabonaut @katers916 @aundray_t_rogers and more)

The audience also got to hear about the incredible work the @realmikejfox Foundation is doing to learn more about Parkinson’s disease. Their executive director @debi_brooks says the organization has raised billions of dollars, made major discoveries, and hope to one day put themselves out of business with a cure.

The conversations were inspiring and HOPEFUL and meaningful. But, even the most significant conversations need a little levity, and John somehow ended up talking about bananas. 🍌 But because he’s an amazing storyteller it all made perfect sense.
