three summers. countless hugs, silly songs, scraped knees, canteen talks, campfires, and reminders that God is always at work in the little moments.
this summer looked different than i ever imagined. coming back after losing my grandma was one of the hardest things i’ve ever done. she was the one who introduced me to lakeshore center at okoboji, and everywhere i turned i saw pieces of her. in the chapel. by the lake. on the trails. in the traditions she loved so much. there were days my heart hurt more than i could explain, but God met me here anyway.
through every high and every heartbreak, God kept reminding me of the fruit of the Spirit, love when it was hard to love, joy in the middle of grief, peace when my heart felt heavy, patience through long days, kindness in every conversation, goodness in serving others, faithfulness in showing up, gentleness with myself and the kids, and self-control even when i felt overwhelmed.
thank you to every camper, family, coworker, and friend who made these three summers so special. thank you for letting me laugh with you, learn alongside you, and watch God move in this place year after year.
lakeshore will always hold a piece of my heart. 🤍
“but the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.” - galatians 5:22–23
