Saturday Snapshots 📸

This week I had another one of those little messages from heaven 👼

While looking through old photos, I came across a Live Photo my husband had taken of me. I accidentally pressed it and heard his voice say, “I love you.”

This was the highlight of my week 🤍 With our 46th wedding anniversary on Sunday I couldn’t help but feel like it was his way of reaching out.

My son is here visiting and helping me with a few big decisions, and tomorrow we’re flying back to Chicago together for five days of family time and fall colors, my favorite time of year. 🍂🥧🧡

A few other snapshots: a fun Sephora haul and my latest shoe obsession, and sautéed spinach and kale, what a flavorful combination 👏

This was my week in moments, with one very special one I’ll always cherish.

solo vanlife w/ a cat BUT we heard coyotes + a few things I do everytime atlas goes outside👇🏻

First and foremost, yall KNOW I do everything in my power to keep atlas safe. But the man would be so depressed if I keep him inside all day, so yes, I let him out (when it feels safe).

But beforehand this is what I do:
- Run around the area to spook anything
- If there's dogs in the caravan, then have them come with me
- Then let atlas out WITH me SUPERVISED
- One thing I do before I let him out is NOT FEED HIM… because then he stays close to the van and doesn’t wander off
- I always have a Tractive GPS collar on him at all times
- & then every 15 minutes or so, I check on him
- IF there's coyotes in the area, I DON’T LET HIM OUT. This was about 8 hours after I heard them and mid day + we had dogs, so I felt comfy going outside with him.

WHY don't I have a leash/harness on him… he HATES it and it would make him run/move slower if anything did happen. This is just for him. Otto, my other cat, LOVED a harness and leash and moved the same in it.

& then there's places I NEVER let him out in:
- Tahoe
- Arizona

Obviously I am nervous everytime he goes outside, but he LOVES it, so this is everything I do to help.

Ok hopefully this minor rant was semi helpful?

I see some weekend baking in our future! Pumpkin Spice Latte Loaf 🤩

Say RECIPE for the link!

My son turned 16 yesterday 🤍 I sat with him tonight having dinner with his friends, which I don’t get to do often. We talked about what we are going to do this weekend at the run club and his bands upcoming shows . To be honest I cried a lil bit when he blew out his candle . he was still so happy and still my baby boy but now he’s a young man almost grown. Lockett is genuine kind and confident , that’s all that I can dream for in my child. But I wish I had more time with him and more dinners and walks and more moments like this when he was just a baby dancing to my demo of “Lean on” by @Majorlazer - he played that song over and over again when I released it. Lockett was my number one fan & now - i am his . I love him more than the world itself 🌎
happy birthday Lockett

Things are about to get hot in LA… and I’m not just talking about the cast this time. #911onABC
