I briefly played w/ Sir Patrick Stewart on a sitcom called “Blunt Talk”. I wasn’t even a big Trek guy, but I knew of his global renown, his commitment to the craft, and his genre-agnostic approach that spanned Shakespearian theater, David Lynch, Mel Brooks, the Old Testament, Stan Lee, Charles Dickens; from the brilliant comic mind of Seth MacFarlane to the darkened door of Jeremy Saulnier. I improvised something when we shot and kinda “went for it”. Symptoms of the disease of thirst. “Only a few lines of dialogue but GOD do I want to shine!” My improv and boldness made Stewart break character and after one take in particular, Michael Lehmann yelled “Cut!” and Sir Patrick started a round of applause and stared at me, mid clap, with a smirk and a knowing look of some kind. Later that day, we were standing at craft service and he told me some anecdotes about he and Sir Ian McKellan, and when I told him I was an aspiring writer/director, he said “Well, I hope you’ll consider me when you’re ready. I’m with ICM and Circle of Confusion-“ The generosity and humility, from my vantage point, was off the charts. He’ll be missed for a great many performances, but I’ll miss him for his performance as “self”. It made a budding, and deeply thirsty, actor feel welcome and celebrated.

A young woman should not have to beg the world for the right to survive her own words. Najmeh Amini, 23, has reportedly been sentenced to death in Iran for comments she posted online. I don’t need her to share my religion, my nationality, or my politics to defend her right to live and speak freely. Her humanity is enough. No government owns the human conscience. No claim of religious authority makes this acceptable. She asked us to be her voice. Say her name. Share her story. Refuse to let her disappear in silence.

➡️ How to create a cinematic series with AI P.S. Comment “fal” and we’ll send you the full workflow and prompts for free. One good scene can become the beginning of a whole series. Start by giving the @fal agent a clear idea of the story, its world and the people in it. Here’s how the workflow runs: → Define the series. Explain the genre, setting, central storyline and how the episodes connect. → Give it a name and visual style. Explore different directions, then choose the light, colours and atmosphere you want to carry through the series. → Generate and lock your characters. Approve their faces, outfits and defining details before creating the episode. → Script and storyboard episode one. Refine the dialogue, actions and shots until the story flows. → Let the agent generate the first episode using your approved characters, script and storyboard. You now have a foundation you can build on for the next episode. ➡️ Comment “fal” and we’ll send you the workflow and prompts for free.
