Negara sudah memberi sebanyak apa sih buat rakyat, sampe berani menarik pajak sebesar-besarnya?

Fasilitas publik masih seadanya. Program MBG malah diwarnai kasus yg memakan korban.

Kopdes belum jelas manfaat dan keuntungannya buat rakyat, tapi anggarannya sudah jelas!

Rakyat kerja keras, cari skill sendiri, transportasi masih seadanya. Tapi giliran narik pajak, negara nggak pernah setengah-setengah!

Rakyat terus dituntut memenuhi kewajibannya.
Tapi negara, kapan memenuhi hak rakyatnya?

THE BEST FEELING EVER. YOUR BREWERS ARE CHAMPIONS OF THE WORLD 😭

Happy Birthday Ru. Our everything

Choose the one who is kind.
There’s a strength in kindness. It doesn’t ask to be seen. It simply is, holding the world together behind the curtain.

Be brave enough to notice it.
To look beyond the surface, beyond the gloss and glitter.
The universe has a way of bringing hearts home to one another.
Have the courage to feel it when it finds you.

Leap towards tenderness.
Towards the love that softens you, not sharpens you.
Feel more than seems reasonable. Care more than seems safe.
Love with a heart left open; raw, real, ready.

Be bold in love.
Choose joy, choose warmth.
Choose the kind of love that feels like truth and safety all at once.

And no, safety isn’t boring.
It’s someone who sees you, all of you,
and still draws you close.
A love that gives you space to be your messy, beautiful, unpredictable self.
The kind of love that makes every past goodbye make sense.

Choose the love that feels like home.
The kind where you say “I love you” not because you have to,
but because you can’t help it.
Say it often. Say it freely.

Hold their hand just to remember they’re real.
Match your steps with theirs.
Walk in the rhythm of their shadow.

Choose the love that doesn’t control or demand,
but listens and lets you breathe.
The love that makes room for you to become more yourself, not less.

Let some connections pass.
Let them float in and out like the weather.
But when the right one comes, the kind one, the good one,
don’t hold back.

Crash into it.
Root yourself in it.

And know this:

What is meant for you won’t ever be lost.

My book Take Care, Healing Springs and Baths in Greece is out this week, published by Park Books, @park_books .
Very happy and excited to share culmination of writing and research conducted in the past eight years; it begun as a doctoral fellow at ETH, gta Institute and has now evolved into the association, Friends of the 750 Mineral Springs of Greece. @750mineralsprings.gr
Thank you to the stellar team at Park Books and to the mentors, friends and colleagues who have supported this work over the years. The beautiful design is by the amazing @bureausandradoeller and commissioned photography and cover by Tobias Wootton @tobias_wootton . Book link in bio, and events coming up and hoping to see you in one of them:

Since the early 19th century, Greece’s numerous thermal springs have been not only places of well-being and healing, but also venues where the newly independent state has pursued its aspirations for prosperity, modernization, and integration into institutional Europe. For modern Greece, thermal water is more than just a natural resource. It has evolved from a public good and remedy into a versatile instrument of national identity, scientific research, and the pursuit of political and business interests.
Take Care: Healing Springs and Baths in Greece explores the history and political transformation of the country’s mineral baths—and of a therapeutic culture that has evolved since the late nineteenth century. Lydia Xynogala tells the story of scientific, social, and political forces driving this development, linking the nineteenth-century Paris World’s Fairs with Greek hospitals, factories, research institutions, hygiene exhibitions, and healing baths. She also examines the fate of public resources in the turmoil of Greece’s public debt crisis in 2010–15 and the wave of privatizations sparked by it.
Xynogala’s book combines an interpretation of archival sources with field research findings, oral history, and ethnographic records. Illustrated with historical and newly taken photographs and documents, her narrative follows the intersections of environmental science, natural philosophy, and the history of public health and architecture.
