Cross country is the only sport where the spectators get a better workout than the athletes.

Today was the slowest marathon I’ve ever run & it’s the one I’m most proud of. I’ve never wanted to quit a race more. My legs were done at mile 14, I *tried* to quit at mile 19 but I’m not sure how to? I walked into a medical tent & they just gave me a Tylenol & Vaseline on a stick, so I kept going. Then I got a text (2nd slide) from my 9 year old (via my wife) and I decided I was going to finish even if I had to walk the rest of the way. The video in slide 3 is me telling him at mile 22 he’s the reason I’m still running. Somehow I was able to get running again & finished with a smile on my face. I am so grateful for my family. I am so grateful for New York City and I am so grateful for everyone who took a moment out of their day to cheer me on. Apologies if I miss anyone here!
