What if God walked into CCI Ago today and said, “Everyone, it is time for an assessment”? What would He find? Would our lives reveal people who are fervent in service, or would we simply blend into the atmosphere around us?
This was the question Pastor
@i2nues challenged us with in the first service as she taught us on “Fervent in Service.” We learnt that fervour in service goes beyond what happens on a Sunday. It encompasses our thanksgiving, worship, spirit, ministry, character, and the impact our lives have on others.
We were encouraged to be thermostats, not thermometers. While a thermometer reflects its environment, a thermostat influences it. As believers, we should not conform to our environment but influence it through the way we live. Our fervour should be palpable and discernible, not through performance or noise, but through the evidence of Christ in our lives.
Three expressions of fervent service:
1️⃣Fervour in Ministry: Every believer has a role to play. Through our service units, gifts, professions, and everyday interactions, God can use us to make an impact.
2️⃣Fervour in Consecration and Moral Excellence: We are called to holiness, excellence, and complete devotion to God, laying aside every weight that hinders us.
3️⃣Fervour in Love, Honour and Generosity: Our love must be genuine. We are called to honour others, show kindness, be hospitable, and give generously.
