hey babes, October is national depression education & awareness month, & world mental health day was October 10th. I missed it because my ADHD a$$ can never remember anything, but I wanted to be transparent about my personal journey.

I got diagnosed with severe clinical depression, anxiety, & ADHD in my twenties shortly after college. but I honestly don’t think I would’ve gotten a formal diagnosis had I not fought for myself. I grew up taking zeroes on oral presentations because it would give me a panic attack having to speak publicly, I had so many teachers say “she’s smart, she has so much potential, but she’s lazy.” I was never lazy, it was a combination of mental health illnesses & behavioral disorders. that’s why I’m not great with deadlines, to this day. I can’t remember names, deadlines, or what I should be doing, even on meds lol. my memory is AWFUL, & it’s not because I don’t listen or am “lazy,” it’s just my brain. I can’t help it.

but meds have made such a HUGE difference in my life. they’ve saved it, tbh. don’t ever let ANYBODY make you feel like taking medication for an actual illness makes you “weaker” than others. you’d take antibiotics for an infection, right? you’d take blood pressure medicine, right? taking meds for mental health is no different, and no less LIFE SAVING.

so today I wanted to be vulnerable. I wanted to be transparent. these are my daily meds (swipe to slide 2) & I’m NOT ASHAMED🧠💖

YOU ARE NOT ALONE🫶🏼

I Still can’t believe I got to experience the set of The Chosen🙏🏽

From walking through the sets and seeing the costumes to meeting the cast and seeing them step into their characters, it was such a cool experience.

What stood out to me most was seeing how much work, detail, and heart goes into creating something that has impacted so many believers today. So grateful I got to experience it firsthand, and even more excited for Season 6 premiering this November 15th!

Thank you @thechosentvseries for having me #TheChosenPartner
