Hudson is almost 9 and he’s the best big brother: helpful, protective, kind, empathetic. I didn’t have to ask him to help Gus (4) on the zip line. He saw that I was holding the baby and just….did it. He takes being a big brother very seriously 🥹 And he’s Gus’ hero, of course 🥹 I actually really love the bigger age gaps. 3+ years seems to be a sweet spot. How far apart in age are your boys? 👇🏼

Omugwo is an ancient Igbo tradition that happens during the first few weeks/months post partum. It’s the primary role of the new mother’s mother or any experienced female family member of the new mother (rarely from the father’s side). I’ve spent the past few days caring for my sister alongside my mother and taking care of the baby. The main aim of Omugwo practice is to take over child care from the new mom, nurse the new mom to health and basically pamper her and I must say I’m having a great time doing this and watching my sister rest and flourish. . 📌 Pro tip when bathing is baby is to wash the head last so the baby doesn’t catch a cold 🤗 . In general, how long does Omugwo last where you come from?? Let’s discuss 👇🏽👇🏽 . . #omugwo #niniilobi #postpartumcare
