Back like we never left.. Road to fitness begins! πŸ“ˆ Currently in a never-ending battle to stay hydrated. This weather is toughhhh! 🐫πŸ₯΅ The track I normally use isn't available at the moment, so if anyone has any recommendations for a track we can access with the bike (for pacing), please drop me a message! πŸ™πŸΌ The beach path is great, but it does become a little dangerous when I'm constantly weaving between people, kids, kids on bikes/scooters/rollerblades, cats... you name it! πŸ˜‚πŸˆ One step at a time! But it feels good to get the legs moving again πŸ’ͺ🏼 #sweatfest
πŸ’— Today is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Remembrance Day, a day to hold close in our hearts all the babies who are gone too soon and the families who carry their love with them every day. The photo I’m sharing is from one of the moments when we learned we had lost a pregnancy we had hoped and prayed for through our surrogacy journey. It was a heartbreaking moment in a journey that was already filled with so much hope, love, and longing to become parents. Our path to parenthood included multiple miscarriages and losses that changed us forever. As a neonatologist, I have cared for the tiniest, most fragile patients and witnessed the incredible strength of families navigating the unimaginable. As a mom, I know the profound love we have for our children. And as a friend to so many moms who have experienced pregnancy and infant loss, I know that grief can stay with us long after the world moves on. Every journey to parenthood is different, and every loss carries its own heartbreak. Today, I am thinking of the parents who have held their babies in their arms and those who carry them in their hearts. The parents who share their stories openly and those who grieve quietly. The families who are still trying to find their way forward while carrying the memory of the little ones they will never forget. πŸ’— Your baby matters. Your grief matters. Your love matters. May we continue to create space for these stories, support one another without judgment, and remember that we never know the heartbreak someone may be carrying. To every parent remembering a precious little life today, please know you are not alone. I am holding you and your babies in my thoughts and heart. πŸ•ŠοΈπŸ’— #InfantLossRemembrance #PregnancyLoss #PregnancyAndInfantLoss #SurrogacyJourney #littlecouple
Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya stood as the last line of defense for his patients when northern Gaza was being wiped off the map. The Left and Greens/EFA in the European Parliament have officially nominated him for the Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought. Today, he is being held in an Israeli prison without charge, without trial, and subjected to torture. Nominating Dr. Abu Safiya isn’t just about honouring him. It is about honouring every doctor, nurse, and paramedic who has been targeted, abducted, or murdered while fighting to save lives amidst genocide. We need an immediate suspension of the EU-Israel Association Agreement. Free Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya.
U.S. Pastor Indicted For Defr@uding Church Members Of $13 Million After Claiming God Chose Them To Fund His Business Cristian Popescu, a 46-year-old pastor from Bothell, Washington, has been indicted for allegedly defr@uding members of his church of $13 million through a f@ke business investment scheme. According to federal prosecutors, Popescu, who leads Passion for Christ, a Christian congregation in Kirkland, allegedly told investors that God had chosen them to fund his business, Followone Inc., a Bellevue-based startup he presented as an e-commerce platform and social network. Prosecutors said he fabricated claims about the company’s revenue, stock value and plans for a Nasdaq listing to attract about 30 investors. At one point, he allegedly claimed the company was worth $1.4 billion, despite knowing it had little or no value. Popescu allegedly promised investors board positions in exchange for $1 million investments and encouraged some to withdraw money from their retirement accounts and their children’s college savings. One victim reportedly transferred nearly $1 million in a single transaction. Investigators alleged that he used shell companies and f@ke invoices to divert investors’ funds for personal benefit, including transferring more than $4.5 million into accounts belonging to himself, his wife and family members. He also allegedly paid himself more than $1 million in wages between 2017 and 2024 and placed his wife on a payroll for about $300,000 despite her allegedly never working for the company. When investors demanded their money back, Popescu allegedly told them they were β€œdem%nically possessed.” He faces 10 counts of wire fr@ud and five counts of money l@undering. He was arraigned in a U.S. District Court in Seattle and released under electronic monitoring. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in prison for each wire fr@ud count and up to 10 years for each money l@undering count, alongside possible fines. His trial is scheduled for December 21.
