And I made it! Here it is, Machu Picchu! Photos just can't show what it feels like to be here. Standing at the top, looking out at the other peaks and feeling like you're nearly touching the clouds, it blows your mind. How on earth did the Incas choose this location and pull off building it all up here 600 years ago? But honestly, what gets me the most is the stuff you can't even see. Over half the build is buried under the ground just to stop it sliding down the mountain and resist earthquakes. No wonder it's a world wonder! 🇵🇪✨ #machupicchu #travelperú #worldwonders #worldtravel #solowomentravel
2027 Elections: We Can’t Find Enough Private Jets To Hire For Our Campaigns— Senate President Akpabio Laments Senate President Godswill Akpabio has lamented the difficulty he and other politicians preparing for the 2027 general elections are facing in hiring private jets for their campaign activities. Akpabio blamed the situation on the inability of private airline operators in Nigeria to meet the growing demand for air travel. He made the remarks during Tuesday’s plenary while lawmakers debated a motion seeking the enforcement of the Bilateral Air Services Agreement (BASA) between Nigeria and China. Using the December festive season to highlight the pressure on the aviation sector, Akpabio urged the Federal Government to address the challenges facing domestic airline operators. “Watch December and the confusion. Even the private airlines cannot handle it. Common campaigns, we cannot see even private jets to hire. We should at least be able to urge the federal government to look into that to alleviate the plight of airlines,” he said. The Senate President also recalled when Nigeria had a national carrier, Nigerian Airways, which transported pilgrims to Saudi Arabia and operated flights to different destinations. According to him, the defunct airline once had between 32 and 40 aircraft. “We used to have a plane in those days carrying people to Saudi Arabia and all that. At the time, Nigerian Airways had about 32 planes on ground, about 40, going from one place to the other. So, how did we get here?” he asked. Akpabio maintained that Nigeria needs a national carrier capable of flying the country’s flag.
