I Don’t Believe in Buying Expensive Clothes; I’m Not Willing to Pay for Certain Things Anymore— Davido’s Sister, Sharon Sharon, the sister of Nigerian singer Davido, has said she does not believe in spending excessively on clothes, stressing that while some things are worth the expense, she is no longer willing to pay for certain items. “I don’t really believe in buying expensive clothes, me personally. I believe that there are some things that are worth it,” she said. Speaking about the high cost of fashion, Sharon questioned why wedding dresses and guest dresses could cost as much as $10,000, noting that such prices were difficult for her to justify. “When I’m hearing that a wedding guest dress is $10,000, a wedding guest dress they’re all the same price now,” she said. Recalling her wedding, Sharon explained that her husband paid $2,000 for her wedding dress, while she covered the cost of dresses for her 13 bridesmaids and an additional four or five hostesses. “I remember for my wedding,my husband paid $2,000 for my dress, and I paid for all my bridesmaids’ dresses. I had 13 bridesmaids, and I paid for the hostesses’ dresses too. That was an additional four or five people. Altogether, I spent less than $10,000 on everything,” she said. She acknowledged that the amount spent on clothing could depend on where one chose to shop but maintained that she was no longer willing to spend excessively on certain things. “But that comes back to where I went to. I just feel like there are certain things that I’m not willing to pay for anymore. So I don’t believe in overly expensive clothes,” she added. Sharon, who said she would turn 40 next year, also announced that she would no longer work directly with Nigerian fashion designers. “I’m turning 40 next year, and I’ve made an executive decision, unfortunately, I’m sorry to say this, that I will not be participating with any Nigerian designer directly,” she said.
This week’s split is all standing, so no getting up and down off the floor 🤍 After my second c-section, floor work was the part I dreaded most. Everything I found had me on my back, straining my neck, and I never had the energy to deal with that. So this week we keep it all on our feet, with nothing longer than 20 minutes. It’s a week for the core strength that carries into everything else, like picking up your kids or just feeling steadier in your own body. Some days you’ll want the dumbbells, some days you’ll want the slow stretch, and all of it counts. If you’re already a homie, you’ve got this week covered. If you’re not, comment TRIAL and I’ll send you the link to start your 7-day free trial inside GWJ Home 🤍

2027: I’m The Commander Of FCT Election Field Operations, I’ll Coordinate Tinubu’s Campaign In FCT And Rivers State — Minister Nyesom Wike The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has declared himself the commander of field operations for the 2027 elections in the FCT, saying he will coordinate President Bola Tinubu’s re-election campaigns in the territory and Rivers State. Wike spoke on Monday at a Rainbow Coalition stakeholders’ meeting in Abuja, where members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) agreed to work together ahead of the 2027 elections. “I am in charge of the FCT election. I am the commander of field operations as far as the FCT election is concerned,” he said. He added, “For the presidency, all of us have agreed that it is Bola Ahmed Tinubu. I am going to coordinate the FCT and Rivers State. So you can imagine how important it is.” Wike urged members of both parties to put aside their political differences. “I want to let all of you know that we are going to work together. Nobody should say, ‘I am PDP’ or ‘I am APC.’ For the purpose of this election, we are together,” he said. At the meeting, PDP candidates for National Assembly seats in the FCT declared support for APC candidates. The coalition also agreed to back Tinubu’s re-election and APC candidates for the Senate and House of Representatives, while leaving other contests to the respective parties. Wike cited the 2024 Edo governorship election as an example of how cross-party alliances could influence election outcomes. He highlighted FCT projects, including road construction, school renovations and police stations, as well as the establishment of the FCT Civil Service Commission and the Women Affairs and Youth Development Secretariats. He challenged critics to identify any of the FCT’s six area councils that had not benefited from the administration’s projects. Wike defended Tinubu’s economic reforms, acknowledging the temporary hardship they had caused but insisting they were necessary. He also reiterated his support for state police to tackle insecurity.
