With a little help from his friend and co-star Selena Gomez, Martin Short found a meaningful way to honor his late daughter, Katherine, who died by suicide earlier this year. At the Rare Impact Fund Gala, Selena announced the creation of The Katherine Short Legacy Award, which was created in honor of Katherine's work as a social worker and presented to the La Familia Counseling Center. Martin presented the award and tearfully spoke about his daughter. "Katherine fought for so long with extreme mental health issues — borderline personality [disorder], other things — and she did the best she could until she couldn't," he shared. "Raising these kinds of funds and awareness to help people understand that mental health is simply an illness, not to be hidden in the shadows or perceived as a family embarrassment." Martin also spoke about the pain of losing his daughter that he'll always carry. "I think that's simply because what we deeply love we can never lose. For all that we love deeply becomes part of us." ⏩️ Swipe to hear Martin's emotional tribute to Katherine. (📸/🎥: Getty Images, @elizabethdenton, Rare Beauty)

SISTAS, we got us! 💗✨ Charlotte was full of sisterhood, real conversations, and a whole lot of love as we came together for BET’s “We Got You Sis” experience in celebration of Tyler Perry’s @sistasonbet ! 💕 As a BET Next Gen Ambassador, it was such a special opportunity to be part of the magic behind the scenes, connect with incredible women, and have meaningful conversations around sisterhood and mental health. And a special shoutout to the powerhouse that is @yourfriendtrin_ ! Working alongside you was truly a pleasure. 🤎 Because beyond the cameras and entertainment, there’s something special about Black women coming together, pouring into one another, and reminding each other that we don’t have to navigate life alone✨ Here’s to more spaces that remind us WE GOT US! 🥹✨ #BETNextGen #WeGotYouSis #SistasOnBET #IAmBraxSimpson #BlackGirlMagic
