The bottleneck in a label was never creativity. I signed a record in ninety seconds. The release took four months.
Chasing a master through three rounds. Resizing artwork. Checking metadata. Following up on a follow-up I'd already forgotten twice.
The calls only I can make are rare. A handful a month. Everything around them is coordination.
I have more music I want to release than capacity to release it well. That's not a shortage of ideas.
Most music software helps you do more. My problem is not dropping what I already committed to.
Everyone in music is worried AI is coming for the creative part.
If the bottleneck is coordination, AI isn't a threat to the heart of the job. It's relief from the part that was never the job.
Build for follow-through, and you get to keep more of the taste. Link in bio, labelflow.ai/blog

I signed a record last spring in about ninety seconds. The release took four months.

Not four months on the music. Four months of chasing a master, resizing artwork, checking metadata, following up on a follow-up I'd already forgotten twice.

The romantic version of running a label is taste. The actual version is follow-through. And I think that distinction decides what music software should actually be built for.
