DPP gives green light for murder charge in deadly Busy Corner stabbing captured on CCTV

A man detained following Saturday's deadly confrontation near Busy Corner in Chaguanas has been charged with murder following instructions from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

The accused is expected to appear before a High Court Master on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, in connection with the killing, which occurred on Saturday, October 10.

The incident, which was captured on CCTV footage, unfolded near Busy Corner along the Southern Main Road, Chaguanas, at approximately 7:30 a.m. on Saturday 10th, 2026.

According to reports, two men became involved in a violent confrontation during which weapons were reportedly used.

The deceased, who was reportedly the aggressor in the confrontation, was repeatedly stabbed and died at the scene.

The suspect, who had sustained injuries during the confrontation, was taken for medical treatment and was subsequently discharged.—

Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon once joked that if you still have a full head of hair, you might not be working hard enough.

The joke hit differently coming from the boss of one of Wall Street’s most intense firms, where junior bankers have reported working as many as 95 hours a week.

Wall Street quickly turned the comment into a meme, with people joking that at Goldman, your hairline is basically a performance review.

Others saw it as a perfectly packaged joke about just how brutal the industry’s work culture can be.
