Trigger warning: This is the moment during Tuesday night’s Asheville City Council meeting when the emergency alert went out for an official tornado warning. City officials stopped their meeting and ordered everyone into a safe space in City Hall until the storm passed. Mayor Esther Manheimer said that as far as she knew, a City Council meeting had never before been interrupted by a tornado warning and advisory to seek safe shelter.

Okay but it was in the weather news for days that there was a threat of storms. If city council is reading this, please stay up to date on the news (I know some of you do).

We got the alert, which I questioned at first. But when Thermo Fisher's security operations center serves you a warning, you go to the basement.

To be fair, the city council meeting room is probably the safest room to be in. It's built like a fortress🤣

Oh, be still my beating heart! 💙 Now THIS is elegance! Allow me to introduce you to the VOALOHANY by @brifault.collection , a new independent watch brand with a rather gorgeous debut creation! Designed by Liana, originally from Madagascar and now calling Paris home, she’s bringing this beautiful little venture to life alongside her husband. And I must say, it’s such a pleasure to champion another independent watch brand with a woman at the heart of its creative vision! 💙 And just LOOK at what she’s designed! A beautifully proportioned 32mm square case, a gorgeous cream dial and so many exquisite little details! And can I just say, FINALLY! A microbrand thinking of us small-watch lovers and dainty-wristed folk! 👏 Proof that you don’t need a big watch to make a big impression. There’s so much thought behind the VOALOHANY and so many wonderful little details that I can’t wait to share with you in an upcoming video. It will be available to pre-order from 12th November, but for now I simply wanted to let this gorgeous little number do the talking! Lots more to come, but what are your first impressions? Isn’t she a beauty? 💙 #paidcollaboration #independentwatchmaking #microbrandwatch
I got involved in Republican politics because I love America and believe in the American Dream. Hispanic Americans are patriots. We believe in faith, family, hard work, and the freedom to build a better future for our children. We’re proud of where we come from, and we’re proud to call America home. America First means fighting to keep the American Dream alive for every American. And you can’t win the Hispanic American vote without voices like ours. 🇺🇸

Tensions are hitting a boiling point over national resource allocation as domestic healthcare networks face unprecedented restrictions. A severe financial divide is being exposed on Capitol Hill following revelations that funding for local social safety nets and disaster recovery is taking a backseat to multi-million dollar enforcement agency packages. The contrast between a nationwide freeze on expanding home healthcare facilities and a dedicated $800 million allocation for law enforcement bonuses is sparking urgent conversations about administrative priorities and transparency in federal spending<%-- --%>. #BudgetDebate #HealthcareCrisis #EconomicPolicy #CurrentEvents #SocialJustice
