Why is no one reporting on the wild fires in Crete, Greece? Landed today to have a 7 hour drive around the island, exposed to horrendous wild fires, not knowing if we’d make it to our villa - and with two kids! Look at what global warming is doing!!

The winds were absolutely INSANE, every road shut going in our direction (towards the fire!), and army turning you around along the way. How is it possible to be prepared? Lucky we finally found a way to get to our spot in the South thanks to our amazing driver Michael who drove up and down the most horrific roads I’ve ever been on to get us away. At one point I was almost coming home.

We see this in Spain and France and even the UK - but where is the reporting on Crete? This is a MAJOR vacation location for the summer holidays, and with them spreading and currently 15 miles from us, more should be done to warn people!!

This is awful. We were just in Crete in June and could already tell it was so dry. I hope you guys are staying safe and that the fires are being contained xx
