My grandma Jan passed away in August. She was a wonderful and creative lady and we knew about her "toad hobby" from a long time ago, but we didn't realize the full extent of it until recently. If you're anything like me and my family, you're probably watching this thinking 1. WTF is this. 2. This is amazing. So here are some answers to a few common questions from friends we've shown these toad pics to already: - why? She was a very creative and whimsical lady. Her kids (my dad included) played with toads in their backyard and she took inspiration from their antics. - no toads were harmed. She loved the toads and would capture them on their property in South Carolina, dress them up and take pics, and release them within 24 hours. Some of the early toad pics were taken in Thailand or Indonesia, where she and her family lived for a few years in the 70s. - we don't know if she made all of the costumes and set pieces by hand but it seems like most of them were custom. Others likely came from doll sets. - yes there are hundreds if not thousands of toad pics that we will be digitizing and posting here over time. - is this AI? Absolutely not lol Follow along for more toad content. There's a lot more of the story to come! In honor of Jan ❤️
O‘zbekistonda uchta atom elektr stansiyasini qurish rejalashtirilmoqda. Bu haqda prezident Shavkat Mirziyoyev 16-oktabr kuni energetika sohasidagi investorlar bilan uchrashuvda aytib o‘tdi.   Eslatib o‘tamiz, 2026-yil mart oyida Jizzax viloyati Forish tumanida Rossiyaning Rosatom korporatsiyasi bilan O‘zbekistondagi birinchi AES qurilishining beton quyish bosqichiga o‘tildi. Keyinchalik Xitoy bilan hamkorlikda ikkinchi AES loyihasiga tayyorgarlik ko‘rilayotgani ma’lum bo‘lgan edi.
So many headlines saying Leo was seen “showing off his dad bod”. There is no equivalent commentary for females in the spotlight. Also, Leo isn’t even a dad! Also, don’t forget he owns 10% stake in a proposed beach resort to be built in occupied Palestine. Guys, I was this close to making a fat joke about Leo. Not cool! Making fun of others’ bodies no matter who it is, is a part of Patriarchal culture and it’s wrong and it won’t help usher in a full return to Indigenous Matriarchy…...But also, Leo’s fat deposit does feel different than the average Joe’s. When obscenely rich monstrous men have extra weight it’s because they’ve gorged themselves on the countless innocent souls of others in every possible way. ~~~~~~ It’s been a decade since the Indigenous youth led Water Protector Camp standoff with the fossil fuel company known as the United States of America. I know there are many of us who are on standby. Waiting waiting waiting for the call to action. Riddled with guilt and frustration over not knowing how to start our own resistance movements. It often feels like all that can be done right now is mutual aid, posting and educating ourselves & others until more people wake up and understand what needs to be done, understand that our power lies in our numbers. But they keep us separated. We keep ourselves separated. How to reunite is unclear. But I remember being at Standing Rock and having that feeling that it is possible.
