MEET MINDY ACUNA — Owner/Director of MDA!!!🩷🧑🩰🩰
Mindy Acuna began her dance training at the age of three, and from the very beginning, dance became a passion that would shape her life.
Throughout her dance years, Mindy has trained extensively in Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Lyrical, Musical Theatre, Pom, Cheer, and Tumbling. She has performed lead roles in productions including The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, and Coppélia.
Mindy began teaching in 2004 as an assistant, and in 2012, she turned her passion into her own studio, founding Mindy’s Dance Attack in Sneads Ferry, North Carolina.
Mindy gained her certificate with Carolina Dance Masters and Dance Masters of America. In addition to directing and teaching at her studio, she serves as a judge for multiple regional and national dance competitions, giving her a unique perspective on both the training and performance aspects of dance.
Her students have earned numerous titles, scholarships, and overall awards at regional and national competitions. She’s had students grow to dance in college and teach at studios. While she is incredibly proud of their accomplishments, Mindy believes the greatest measure of success is the growth, confidence, character, and love of dance her students develop along the way.
After more than two decades of teaching, Mindy’s greatest joy remains watching her students excel, grow, and become confident young people. She believes every child who walks through the studio doors should feel seen, valued, encouraged, and loved. She strives to create an environment where dancers feel comfortable being themselves, while also challenging them to discover just how much they are capable of achieving.
Outside of the studio, Mindy is a proud wife and mom of three to her two bonus boys and her little girl. She is also a dog mom and loves spending time with her family, enjoying the beach, soaking up the sunshine, and, of course, an iced coffee in hand!
Her philosophy is simple, work hard, dream big, be kind, and never stop believing in yourself.
