Some of the most intense admiration can hide the most dangerous intentions. Narcissists are often drawn to people with integrity and a deep capacity for love, because they sense something in them they cannot access themselves. When something feels off, even if you can’t name it yet, trust that feeling. Your intuition is a deeper intelligence, and it can see through what your mind wants to believe. If this speaks to you, follow for more.
October is a month I’ll look back on with a smile on my face and tears in my eyes. This month has brought joy and pain, some physical for me (Maggie in the marsh and oyster cuts as a result, massive burns from stupid curling irons and leash tangles causing wrist tears) and some emotional (standing over my mom watching her body try to fight a 105.6 fever is something that will haunt me until the day that I die). But, we lived to see November. We literally thrived and then just survived this month. And the longer I’m on this earth the more that I find I’m a student of that rhythm. We all are. If I’ve learned nothing else, and if I could pass on only one lesson from these 46 years on the planet, let it be this. No matter how good you’ve got it or how bad your life feels right now, nothing lasts forever. It never gets easier and stays easier. Happiness is truly found in navigating both periods of your life with grace, as much grace as you can muster, for yourself and those around you. That’s something I’m still working on. And, to be completely honest, I’m crap at it but I’m trying. This was October… (Never been happier to hear Mariah Carey at midnight on November 1st).
We asked Claude for advice on how to spend the next 10 years, with one simple rule: no explanations. The response was surprisingly human. Sleep well, take care of your health, spend time with people you love, build things you own, and learn when enough is enough. In a world increasingly focused on doing more, it's interesting how much of Claude's advice comes down to appreciating what we already have. What are your thoughts on this? 🤔💬
