Hi, let me reintroduce myself. My name is Kandace. 🤍

It comes from ‘Kandake,’ an ancient title meaning “queen” or “queen mother,” held by powerful women who ruled the African Kingdom of Kush.

The more I grow into my purpose, the more I realize how much my name fits me.

I’ve always been feminine, sensitive, spiritual, and a little ethereal. Growing up, I thought of myself as a princess. Now I think of myself as a fairy or mermaid. It tracks.

You’ll probably find me barefoot near water, frolicking, talking to nature, or finding meaning in what surrounds me.

But sensitivity has not always felt like a gift.

As a sensitive woman in a modern world, I often felt like I didn’t belong here. For a long time, yoga was one of the only places where I felt safe enough to return to myself.

My relationship with yoga became a love story. The more I loved the practice, the more I learned to love, listen to, and trust myself.

Ok but this isn’t actually a fairy tale.

I grew up where my emotions, sensitivity, femininity, and boundaries were not always honored. I learned to suppress my feelings, question my intuition, and feel unsafe expressing myself or setting boundaries.

Those patterns followed me into relationships and communities where I abandoned parts of myself to feel accepted. Even now, I struggle to remember my strongest, most grounded self.

The deeper I’ve gone into healing, the more I’ve realized these wounds did not begin with me. They’ve been generational.

On the last slide are generations of women in my family. My great great grandmother, pictured holding the pipe, was known as a Cherokee medicine healer.

Maybe that is why I’ve always felt drawn to herbal medicine, holistic healing, nature, the body, and spirituality outside religion.

I didn’t randomly find this. Maybe I am remembering.

MoonFlowher was created from that remembrance. It is a space for women coming home to themselves through yoga, nervous system healing, cyclical living, ancestral wisdom, nature, education, and community.

This is not about becoming someone new. It is about realizing what taught us to disconnect from who we already are.

So hi, you have found the right place. 🌝
