Some people grow up knowing exactly where they belong. Some of us grow up learning two languages, two traditions, two ways of seeing the world.
Our children are growing up with something even more beautiful. They aren’t just Lao. They aren’t just Cambodian. They carry pieces of both of us, our families, our stories, and our history.
For a long time, being “in between” felt like something that needed an explanation. But the older I get, the more I realize it isn’t something to explain - it’s something to celebrate.
That’s why I started Laobodian Co.
Not just to make clothing, but to create something my kids can look at one day and say, “This was made for people like us.”
We don’t have to choose one side over the other.
We don’t have to make ourselves smaller to fit into one box.
We get to embrace both.
