This Saturday @the_bbe_store we’re gonna go back, wayyyyy back…

Mutiny was a club-night that only ran from ‘92-’94 at the Starlight Club in Paddington and was one of few nights at the time exclusively given over to Hip-Hop and RnB, (previous nights would always include some funk, rare groove, even early house etc). This was a golden era for the genre, tracks that would become classics getting released every week, although to hear this music you had to tune into your specialty pirate show, buy the imported vinyl or travel to a night like Mutiny, which many did, every week, from far and wide.

It’s funny to think that some of the music we played then to an underground crowd can now be heard on supermarket adverts and are considered crossover hits. Even so, going through my music for this night there is so much that I haven’t heard on a system for decades.

Looking forward to reuniting with my original Mutiny crew @chrisphilips and @mrdjmickeyd to run some of these jams again alongside music that came out subsequently but would have fit in perfectly.
